Bio:
Dr. Oona L. O’Neill is a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) and Clinical Associate Professor at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She also serves as the academic lead for the summer women’s health program at Wake Forest University. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. O’Neill manages the medical, endocrine and surgical care of the woman across the lifespan, from puberty, labor & delivery, through menopause and the elder years.
Dr. O’Neill has a particular interest in menopausal medicine. She has been an active member of The Menopause Society since 2017 and currently serves as the Chair of the Scientific Abstract Committee. Her passion is educating patients as well as future health care providers. Dr. O'Neill is heavily involved with formal teaching programs including high school students, undergraduate college students, medical students and practicing OBGYN Residents as they advance their skills to becoming the next generation of women’s health advocates and providers. At Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Dr. O'Neill has created the only Menopause Clinic in the Piedmont Triad specifically designed to increase women's access and to train fellow physicians in menopausal medicine. Dr. O’Neill has won various teaching awards in her role as Clinical Associate Professor as well accolades for her work as a physician in her community, including being named “Top Doctor” in North Carolina, “Best Doctors in America,” and “Who’s Who in America for Professionals in Obstetrics & Gynecology.”
Dr. O'Neill's biggest accomplishment is maintaining her sanity as a wife and mother to 3 children Naya (16), Roddy(14) and Noula (12) with her new puppy Lulu and old faithful Buttercup, both loving and ferocious rottweilers. Her calling in life is to be a professional tennis player, however, currently that is still a work in progress.
