Let Them Night
April 2025
We had a wonderful night discussing Mel Robbins’ new book, “Let Them.” “Let Them” is the ultimate permission slip to stop auditioning for the role of Everyone’s Personal Manager. Mel Robbins basically says: if your friend wants to date a walking red flag—let them. If your coworker insists on sending “quick emails” that are 17 paragraphs long—let them. If your mother-in-law redecorates your living room while you’re out of town—deep breath… let her.
This book is like emotional yoga: it stretches your patience, strengthens your boundaries, and teaches you to exhale all the drama that isn’t yours. Instead of wasting energy trying to fix people, Let Them helps you sit back, sip your coffee, and enjoy the show—because peace of mind is better than control.
We discussed an even more important part of this concept which is “Let Me”: After letting others be, turn inward: focus on what you can control—how you think, act, and feel. Use that energy for yourself instead of trying to manage others.
